Well Trained Horses, a horse rescue located at Icssoma Farm.

September 2012
“It was a chilly December afternoon, two years ago, that I first drove up to the stables at Icssoma Farm. I had no idea that my life was about to be taken over by horses. After meeting the rescue horses and Susan Jan, I went home and starting reading the stories of these amazing creatures. All in various stages of healing, I read Bluff's story and I wept. It was with tears in my eyes and a desire to help change the fate of neglected and discarded horses, that I signed up as a volunteer for the first time in my life.”
Bluff
"When it was clear that Bluff's racing career was over, he found his way to Well Trained Horses. At first he could only be approached by Susan, then only by a few other women. After months of slow, loving, and deliberate care Bluff has become an amazing friend and companion to the volunteers that work with him daily. Two years and a whole lot of work later, Bluff is a trusting, gentle, and confident horse. Watching him nuzzle my hubby or softly lower his head for a child, it is hard to believe that this horse was once so scared that every response was one of fear. Bluff is now ready to take his final steps towards a happy ending – he is ready for his forever home and a best friend for life. "
